Join us for a walk along the canal and nearby areas. We invite you to come enjoy some outdoor time with us on National Trails Day and learn a bit about the historic & natural resources at the D&R Canal State Park. Our round-trip walks are moderately paced and generally last about 2 hours. Children are welcome but those under 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Participants are asked to meet promptly at the designated parking area noted below at the start time indicated.

National Trails Day: Walk the Princeton Nursery Trails – 1.5 Miles
June 6th is NATIONAL TRAILS DAY! If you plan to be free for a few hours that Saturday, then do consider joining us for morning walk in Kingston. The D&R Canal's seasonal naturalist and historian are partnering to offer a leisurely and educational walk around the former Princeton Nursery trails/grounds and briefly along the historic canal. Come learn about this area's unique natural and historic resources including the former Princeton Nursery cultivars, native and invasive species, the history of the former nursery property and its relationship to the D&R Canal.
Those planning to participate are asked to meet at the D&R Canal State Park's Kingston Office parking lot promptly at 10:00 AM. Bring water, dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking/hiking shoes. Be prepared for a consistently paced 1.5 mile round-trip walk lasting about 2 hours.
Inclement weather will cancel this walk. A notice will be sent out should the program be canceled due to weather or other circumstance.
