The Rutgers Air Pollution Training Program (RAPTP) is part of the Department of Environmental Science at Rutgers University. There are three main categories of courses offered under the program. 1) USEPA sponsored courses. 2) NJDEP sponsored courses. 3) Visible Emissions Evaluation Program. The 3-5 day courses are funded by the USEPA and are free of charge for federal, state, and local air pollution agency personnel. Private sector personnel are charged a reasonable fee.
RAPTP has been providing air pollution training to federal, state and local air pollution agency and private sector personnel since the 1950's. The program maintains a state-of-art training facility that includes two classrooms and a well-equipped laboratory with source and ambient monitoring and sampling instrumentation. regularly offer courses for certification and recertification in visible emissions evaluation and jurisdiction-specific courses in odor enforcement.
