The New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station (NJAES) is the legislated research and outreach arm of the state dealing with agriculture, renewable natural resources, youth development, and family and consumer sciences. Its mandate is to improve the quality of life of all New Jersey citizens. Through Rutgers Cooperative Extension, NJAES carries research from the laboratory to people through programs in all 21 counties. These programs provide technical and educational assistance on topics affecting people's lives: agriculture; environmental issues; natural resource management; nutrition; health; family and economic well-being; and 4-H youth development.
