Dandelions, plantains, violets, and other resilient plants can be found at the edges of our paths, gardens and lawns. Though these weeds are often rouged out, they have mnay traditional uses, including as food and medicinal remedies.

Visit the Frelinghuysen Arboretum on November 18th from 10:00am to 12:00pm and learn which common weeds are high in healthy fats or where to find the plant called “nature’s bandage”. A presentation will weave together the ecology of common native and non-native plants with their modern and historical uses.

This presentation will be followed by a salve-making workshop in which all participants will bring home a salve.

Materials included in class fee.
