Biotechnology Center for Agriculture and the Environment

Biotech has two principal tasks: first, to strengthen research and training in molecular biology applied to agriculture and the environment, and second, to provide a means for transferring new discoveries into practice and product development. Biotech contributes to New Jersey's economy by supporting the state's agricultural and environmental industries and by assisting the growth and development of its biotechnology industries. An important dimension of the center's role is its outreach or extension to the public, providing information to and receiving advice from policy makers and interested citizens.
