standards - copyright and privacy
Copyright and Privacy:Copyright IssuesThe New Jersey Environmental Digital Library makes every effort to ensure that all materials cataloged and contained in our collection can be considered public information, and may be copied or distributed without fee. The NJEDL is largely a user-generated collection, and any new submission to our library is researched for copyright availability before being added to the collection. If you believe an item in this library is in some way in violation of copyright, please contact us immediately, and we will make the necessary corrections. For more information about U.S. copyright law (Title 17 U.S. Code), please see the U.S. Copyright Office, or visit Rutgers University Libraries' research guide to copyright information. Linking to items in the collection Permission is given to link directly to items within the collection, or to link to the NJEDL. However, because the database is dynamic, records are constantly being updated and document locations may sometimes change. It is recommended that you contact the NJEDL webmaster for instructions for linking to a record's detailed citation report. Privacy The NJEDL does not store personal information about its users, and any information submitted to the NJEDL will not be shared with any outside parties. If you choose to provide us with any personal information, such as an e-mail address, we will use that only to respond to your request. The NJEDL does keep aggregate usage statistics on searches, document circulation, and other information. These statistics are kept for the purposes of improving collection development and our searching interface, as well as understanding the information needs of our users. These statistics do not track individual users' searching patterns, browsing habits, or any identifiable individual information. For the purposes of creating a user-generated collection, the NJEDL accepts document submissions from its users. In order to verify the origin of these documents, we do require some user registration information. The NJEDL will never share this information with any third party, and personal information will be kept completely confidential. |
